Chicago operates the second largest public transportation system in America (second only to New York's system). The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) runs buses and rapid transit cars (including the elevated trains) throughout Chicago and 40 of its surrounding suburbs. Each day an average 1.6 million people use the CTA system.
The CTA operates 2,000 buses and nearly 1,200 rapid transit cars, which run 24 hours a day. In the city, the elevated trains are known as the "Chicago L" or to Chicagoans as simply the "El." For additional public transportation options while in your Chicago temporary housing, you can ride the Metra commuter rail in from Chicago's outer suburbs. With over 200 train stations, you can ride Metra's Electric District Main Line from Chicago's far south suburbs to the city's lakefront attractions. IHS forwarded this request to about 23 housing providers and within a few hours the client had heard from 8 housing companies. The client selected a company offering a furnished apartment for one year in downtown Chicago within the price range specified.
Client moved on August 1st 2008 and stayed one year.

An executive with Credit Suisse needed to find temporary housing in the Loop in Downtown Chicago for one month starting 7/15/10. A software consultant from Minneapolis needed to be in Chicago on business for a month. They wanted to find a pet friendly location as well so they could bring their 13 pound dog. Downtown Chicago has a number of furnished rental companies and IHS works with most of them. With one request to IHS, our client began to receive offers immediately on pet friendly options in the location they were looking for. A decision was made on a condo in Chicago that was managed by one of the companies in our network.
