Public Transportation

D.C. residents primarily rely on the Metro to take them from place to place. The system, run by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, serves 3.5 million people over a 1,500 square mile area. The Metro system is the second largest rail transit system in the country. Furnished apartments in Washington, D.C. are located near Metro, which also runs bus and rail lines from Virginia and Maryland into the District, making it easy for residents to get to work or tour the nation's capital. The Metro's website has important information regarding system maps, fares and schedules, which can be useful to executive housing residents.

If your temporary rental is in the suburbs in Virginia or Maryland, you may find that taking a train into the city is a more timely way to commute.
