Getting Around
Miami is a city full of many people - and many
ways to transport them around town. Your Temporary
housing will put you close to many means of transportation,
whether you prefer to take the bus or your own
car.
Public Transportation
The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority
operates four public transportation systems in
the Miami area. Miami-Dade Transit (MDT) carries
over 200,000 residents each day, from Broward
County to the Middle Keys. MDT consists of Metrorail,
Metrobus, Metromover (automated monorail) and
Paratransit systems which intersect each with
other to effectively transport Miami residents
to places of work and play.
Tri-Rail, a commuter rail system throughout southern
Florida, also connects residents to the major
cities in the area. The train runs from West Pam
to Fort Lauderdale and on to Miami. Palm Tran
serves Palm Beach County with over 3,500 bus stops
and serves over 7 million residents each year.
And Broward County Transit covers over 410 miles
with its bus routes and carries residents to school,
work and leisure activities. Without a doubt,
you'll be able to get around town from your Temporary
housing with Miami's public transportation system.
Driving
Many Miami residents hop in their cars to get
from place to place. Several major highways run
through the city, many of which you'll travel
regularly during your stay in Temporary housing.
These include:
U.S. 1 (State Route 5): Also known as the
Dixie Highway, this highway runs north and south
through Miami, where it becomes I-95
I-75: Runs all the way from Ontario, Canada
on to Florida. In Miami, I-75 runs east and
west across the city and connects to Naples
on Florida's west coast
I-95: A north/south highway through Miami,
as well as up and down the east coast
I-195: Freeway that runs east and west from
I-95 to northern Miami Beach
I-395: Provides a link from Miami to Miami
Beach along the Biscayne Causeway
FL 821: Parallels I-95 through West Palm
and Fort Lauderdale until it becomes the Homestead
Expressway in northern Miami and continues to
the city's western suburbs.
If you're not bringing a car to your Temporary
housing, you can always rent a car while in Miami.
There are many rental agencies - for example,
Hertz, Avis, Enterprise and Budget - for you to
rent a car while in your Miami temporary housing.

or perhaps picking up a top priority client for
an outing, you may be interested in renting a
limousine while in your Miami Temporary housing.

world Hummer-limos to classy sedans. Miami limousine
